By enrolling in the Journey Rewards Program or otherwise using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Journey Terms and Conditions

Below is a comprehensive set of Terms and Conditions for Journey (“we,” “us,” or “our”) that covers both:

The general use of our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services” or “App”).
The specific terms for membership in the Journey Rewards Program (“Program”).

1. Introduction

1.1 Agreement to Terms

By creating a Journey account, enrolling in the Program, or otherwise accessing or using any part of our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use our Services.

1.2 Additional Policies
These Terms incorporate by reference any additional policies we post or make available within the Services, including but not limited to our Privacy Policy. In case of any conflict between these Terms and other policies, these Terms will prevail.

1.3 EULA
These Terms are in addition to Journey.com's End User License Agreement ("EULA") available at journey.com/eula and any other applicable terms, conditions, or policies referenced herein or otherwise applicable to your use of Journey.com's services.

1.4 Modifications
We may revise these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via one or more of the following:

An in-app notification

A public posting on our website

Your continued use of the Services after such changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue using the Services.

2. Journey Rewards Program (“Program")

2.1 Membership Eligibility and Good Standing

Eligibility. The Program is open to individuals who are at least the age of majority in their jurisdiction and who provide and maintain a valid email address or phone number.

Good Standing. To earn or redeem Points at Alliance Partners, your membership account (“Account”) must be active and in good standing (i.e., not suspended or terminated, and not in violation of these Terms).

Join Date Requirement. You must enroll in the Program before your booking date in order to earn special rewards multiples or access member-exclusive offers for that particular stay or reservation.


2.2 Earning Points

Alliance Partner & Purchases. You will earn Points for eligible stays, services, or purchases at properties, restaurants, or other businesses in the Journey Alliance Partner network. Certain rates, booking channels, or promotions may be excluded from earning Points; exclusions will be disclosed when possible.

Qualifying Stays
As a Journey Rewards Member, you earn Journey Points on qualifying stays booked with Journey Alliance Partners, directly through the participating Property's own booking site, or indirectly through Online Travel Agencies (“OTAs”) where applicable. You can also earn Journey Points (at participating Properties) for every Dollar spent through (i) food and beverage purchases; (ii) room service and in-hotel dining charges (iii) spa services; (iv) experiences; (v) parking; and (vi) other incidental charges such as early check-in fees. Journey Points are accrued based on the total amount spent on accommodations at specific Properties listed on the Journey Platform, at the rate specified in the Journey Rewards program terms.

Eligible Dollars
Journey Points are NOT earned on: (i) Property or room taxes and fees; (ii) cleaning fees; (iii) OTA or third-party service fees; or (iv) accommodation fare booked using Journey Points or other corporate/third party promotional rates (unless you have opted in) (collectively, “Eligible Dollars").

Eligible Dollars will be recorded by the connected Property management/business management billing systems for guest stays (“Folio”). Journey Points are awarded and issued in varying ways depending on the Journey Alliance member settings and whether or not the person booking is considered a Journey Rewards Member or a Non-Journey Member. To avoid doubt, Journey Rewards Member(s) who create an account after a booking is submitted will be considered a Non-Journey Member for said booking. However, they will be classified as a Journey Rewards Member for all future bookings after their account creation date.

Currency & FX Conversion. All Points are calculated in U.S. Dollars (USD). If you pay in another currency, Journey will convert to USD at a rate provided by our third-party FX partner at the time of payment—or within a reasonable window at Journey’s discretion—to determine the number of Points earned. We do not guarantee the best exchange rate.

Bonus Campaigns. From time to time, Journey or an Alliance Partner may issue bonus Points for promotional activities. Such campaigns may have separate or additional terms. All bonus issuance is at the sole discretion of Journey or the Alliance Partner.


2.3 Status Levels

Annual Qualification Period. Status levels (e.g., Nomad, Ambassador, Globalist, Legend, Icon) are based on the total Points earned from January 1 at 12:00 AM to December 31 at 11:59 PM in your local time zone.

Duration of Status. Once you reach the minimum threshold for a given Status level, you keep that Status for the remainder of the current year and through the entirety of the following calendar year, unless otherwise stated.

2.4 Rewards Redemption

Redemption Requests. You may redeem Points for various rewards or perks (e.g., discounted stays, suite upgrades, flexible check-in/out) at participating Alliance Partners.

Suite Elevation & Timeless Stay. Certain rewards—like our “Suite Elevation” (one-night suite upgrade) or “Timeless Stay” (flexible check-in/out)—are subject to property confirmation and are not guaranteed until the property confirms.

Redemption Confirmations. All Point redemptions for stays or reservations are pending until you receive a final confirmation from Journey that the property or service is confirmed.

Point Floor Value Guarantee. We guarantee that the redemption value of each Point will not fall below $0.01 USD (1 cent) under normal conditions. In extreme circumstances (e.g., severe economic disruption), Journey reserves the right to modify or suspend this guarantee.

Retail Price Basis. The redemption value is compared against the standard retail rate for the service or stay. This does not guarantee alignment with any discounted, promotional, or user-negotiated rate.

2.5 Point Pooling and Transfers

Pooling Creating or Joining a Pool. Members can create a pool of Points or join an existing pool by contributing their Points.

Ownership and Control. The pool creator (“Pool Owner”) has the sole authority to decide how pooled Points are used. Contributors understand that Points may be used for rewards or trips in which they do not participate. Journey is not responsible for disputes over pooled Point usage.TransfersTransfer Fees. You may transfer Points to other Journey members or third parties as enabled by the Services. Journey may charge a fee for such transfers at its discretion, depending on the transfer partner or other factors.

Irreversibility. Once Points are transferred and accepted, the transaction cannot be reversed. Journey will not mediate or restore transferred Points.Transfer PartnersThird-Party Programs. We may partner with third-party loyalty programs or other entities that allow you to transfer Points to or from their platforms. Their terms and conditions will apply once the Points leave Journey’s ecosystem (or enter from theirs).

Partner Discretion. Third-party programs may impose additional fees, limitations, or other requirements. Please review their rules carefully before transferring Points.

2.6 Account Management

Multiple Contact Methods. You may add multiple verified emails or phone numbers to your Account to improve Point matching for past or future reservations.

Prohibited Conduct. All contact information must be your own. Adding someone else’s contact details to funnel Points to your Account is considered abuse or fraud.

Abuse or Fraud. Any attempt to misrepresent reservations or manipulate the Program may result in termination of your Account and forfeiture of all accrued Points and rewards.

2.7 Expiration & Forfeiture of Points

Expiration Policy.
Journey Points expire after twenty-four (24) months of inactivity on the Journey Platform. Qualifying activity on the Journey Platform includes earning Journey Points through eligible stays or participation in Journey Point-earning activities across the Journey Platform. Without qualifying activity within 24 months, your Journey Points will expire.

If your account does not represent the correct number of Journey Points that you should have been awarded as determined by Journey, we reserve the right to adjust your Journey Point balance. If you have been awarded (or not awarded) Journey Points in error, or if you believe your account has been the subject of any suspicious activity, be sure to get in touch with us immediately

Forfeiture on Termination.
If your Account is terminated due to fraud, abuse, or any violation of these Terms, all Points and rewards are forfeited immediately.

2.8 Program Retroactivity and Adjustments

Claim Period. You have 90 days from the date of a qualifying transaction to report missing Points. After this period, Journey may deny retroactive credit requests.

Point Adjustments. Journey reserves the right to adjust or rescind Points previously credited if they resulted from an error, technical malfunction, or suspected fraudulent activity.

2.9 Right to Modify or Terminate the Program

Journey reserves the right to amend, modify, restrict, suspend, or terminate the Journey Rewards Program (including these Terms, Point structures, or redemption rules) at any time, with or without notice. This may include changing the rate at which Points are earned, modifying Status thresholds, or discontinuing any part of the Program. In the event the Program is terminated, any unredeemed Points may be forfeited without any liability on the part of Journey.

2.10 No Cash Value Except as Stated

Except as expressly stated (e.g., our Point Floor Value Guarantee), Points do not have any cash value. They may not be sold, bartered, or exchanged for cash, and are non-transferable except as permitted under these Terms. You acquire no property rights in Points, and Journey does not act as a bank or escrow holder in issuing Points.

2.11 Non-Transferability of Membership

Your membership in the Program is personal to you and may not be sold, transferred, or assigned to anyone else. Upon the death of a Member, Points may be handled at Journey’s discretion or according to any applicable laws.

2.12 Reservation of Right to Interpret Program Rules

Journey has the sole discretion to interpret and apply the Program’s rules, and its decisions are final and binding. If any questions arise regarding eligibility, Point calculations, or these Terms, Journey’s determination will prevail.

2.13 Disclaimer of Employment or Agency Relationship

Participation in the Program does not create any partnership, agency, or employment relationship between you and Journey. You participate solely as an independent consumer.

2.14 Member Tax Responsibilities

Any tax liability or disclosure requirements connected with the receipt or use of Points or rewards are your sole responsibility. Journey makes no representations regarding the tax implications of participating in the Program.

2.15 Compliance with Local Laws

By participating in the Program, you represent that your participation does not violate any applicable laws in your jurisdiction. Journey reserves the right to suspend or terminate your participation if there is a conflict with local laws.


3. Bookings, Cancellations, and Refunds

3.1 Host Property Policies

Separate Agreement.
Each booking is a separate transaction between you and the Host Property, governed by that property’s terms, house rules, and cancellation policies.

Disclosure. Property-specific policies will be displayed at checkout or within the Services. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with these.

3.2 Journey’s Role

Intermediary Only.

Journey acts solely as a booking platform or agent facilitating reservations. We do not set or control the policies of any Host Property.

No Liability for Property Acts. Disputes or claims relating to a Host Property’s actions (e.g., cancellations, cleanliness, or safety) must be directed to that property.

3.3 Cancellations

User-Initiated. If you cancel, the Host Property’s cancellation policy (including fees or penalties) applies.

Property-Initiated. If the Host Property cancels, Journey will assist in finding alternative accommodations or obtaining a refund where applicable.

3.4 Refunds

Points Refund. If a booking paid with Points is canceled in accordance with the Host Property’s policy, eligible Points may be credited back to your Account.

Monetary Refund. Cash refunds are governed by the Host Property’s policies and/or applicable law. Journey is not responsible for processing times or approvals of cash refunds.


4. License and App Usage

4.1 Limited License
Journey grants you a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable limited license to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

4.2 Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:

Sell, rent, lease, transfer, assign, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise exploit any part of the App or its content for commercial gain.

Modify, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the App.

Breach or circumvent security measures or access private areas of the App.
Use automated means (e.g., scraping, bots) without express written permission.

4.3 Updates and Modifications
Journey may update or modify the App at any time without prior notice. Any future release, update, or addition will be governed by these Terms.

4.4 No Support or Maintenance
Journey is not obligated to provide technical support or maintenance for the App.

4.5 Ownership
Except for User-Generated Content (Section 5), all intellectual property rights in the App and its content are owned by Journey. No ownership or interest is transferred to you by using the App. If you submit feedback or suggestions, you assign all related rights to Journey.


5. User-Generated Content

5.1 Definition
“User-Generated Content” includes reviews, ratings, photos, videos, comments, or other materials that you submit. You are solely responsible for any and all such content.

5.2 License to Journey
By submitting User-Generated Content, you grant Journey a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works, and otherwise use such content in connection with the Services.

5.3 Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to submit content that:

Violates any third-party rights (e.g., intellectual property, privacy).

Is harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful.

Contains viruses, spam, or other harmful components.

Interferes with or disrupts the Services.5.4 Enforcement

Journey may remove or refuse any User-Generated Content at its discretion and may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Journey Content
All text, graphics, logos, designs, databases, and software code within the Services (“Journey Content”) are the exclusive property of Journey or its licensors, protected by intellectual property laws.

6.2 Trademarks
“Journey,” “Journey Rewards,” and associated logos are trademarks of Journey. You may not use these marks without prior written permission, except as allowed by law.

6.3 Feedback and Suggestions
Any ideas or suggestions you provide to Journey may be used freely by Journey without any obligation or compensation to you.


7. Privacy and Data Protection

7.1 Data Collection
We collect personal data such as your name, email, phone number, transaction history, and location data. We process this information to provide and improve our Services. Our practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy.

7.2 Data Sharing
We may share your data with Host Properties to facilitate bookings or with third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, analytics, marketing) as described in our Privacy Policy.

7.3 Marketing and Promotions
By participating in the Program, you consent to receive marketing communications unless you opt out. We comply with applicable laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR) regarding such communications.

7.4 Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. However, no security system is foolproof, and we are not liable for breaches beyond our reasonable control.

7.5 User Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Direct requests to:

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service “As Is"
The Services (including the App and Program) are provided “as is” and “as available.” Journey disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8.2 Rewards Provided “As Is"

All rewards, perks, or partner offers accessed through the Program are provided “as is” and as available. Journey makes no warranties regarding their quality, availability, or suitability for your needs.

8.3 Third-Party Interactions
Journey is not responsible for the actions or omissions of third parties, including Host Properties, advertisers, or external websites linked from the Services. Disputes with third-party services must be addressed directly with those third parties.

8.4 Limitation of LiabilityIndirect Damages.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Journey is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., lost profits, data loss).

Cap on Damages.
Journey’s total liability shall not exceed the greater of (i) fees paid by you to Journey in the past 12 months or (ii) USD $100.

Jurisdictional Exceptions. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations; where prohibited, such limits shall not apply.

8.5 Force Majeure
Journey is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, labor disputes, internet outages, governmental actions).

8.6 No Guarantee of Accuracy
Any availability, pricing, or other information displayed on the App or website may be inaccurate or out of date. Only confirmed reservations or direct confirmations from the Alliance Partner are definitive.

9. JOURNEY ALLIANCE PARTNERS

9.1 Partner Participation. Journey Alliance Partners are separate entities from Journey. Journey does not control, and is not responsible for, the actions or inactions of Journey Alliance Partners, including the quality of goods or services provided.

9.2 Partner Terms. Transactions with Journey Alliance Partners may be subject to additional terms and conditions established by the respective partners. It is your responsibility to review and understand these partner-specific terms.

9.3 Partner Changes. Alliance Partners may join, leave, or change their participation in the Program at any time without notice. Journey is not liable for any damages resulting from such changes.

9.4 Partner Communication. By participating in the Program, you consent to receive communications from Journey Alliance Partners related to the Program.


10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Journey, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:Your use or misuse of the Services.

Your violation of these Terms.

Your infringement of any third-party rights (including intellectual property).

Any content you submit via the Services.


11. Termination and Suspension

11.1 User-Initiated
You may delete your Account at any time by contacting customer support or using in-app settings.

11.2 Journey-Initiated
Journey may suspend or terminate your Account if:

You violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

You pose a risk to other users or Alliance Partners.

You engage in behavior detrimental to Journey’s interests.

11.3 Consequences
Upon termination,
(i) your right to use the Services ends immediately,
(ii) unredeemed Points may be forfeited, and
(iii) certain provisions (e.g., Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification) survive.


12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

12.2 Arbitration Agreement
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator’s decision is final and binding.

12.3 Class Action Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any right to pursue disputes on a class or collective basis; all claims must be brought on an individual basis.

12.4 Exceptions

Injunctive Relief.
Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief for intellectual property claims in a court of competent jurisdiction.

Court Venue.
If arbitration is deemed unenforceable, disputes will be resolved in federal or state courts located in Delaware.


13. General Provisions

13.1 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

13.2 No Waiver
Failure by Journey to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

13.3 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other referenced documents, constitute the entire agreement and supersede any prior agreements between you and Journey.

13.4 Assignment
Journey may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction. You may not assign these Terms or any rights herein without Journey’s written consent.

13.5 Headings
Section headings are provided for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.

13.6 Disclaimer Regarding Errors and Omissions
While we strive for accuracy, Journey is not responsible for any errors or omissions in the Services, including pricing, property details, or availability.

13.7 Governing Language
These Terms are governed by the English language. Any translations are for convenience only; in the event of a conflict, the English version prevails.
